There is plenty of evidence to show the huge need for culture change in workplaces all over the world. We not only highlight these, but use this portal to create a collective energy of change and sustainable transformation to make this planet better for each one of us. We will ring the bell of hope and transformation, all together.
Over the years, there have been a number of studies on race equality in the UK workplace. Most of these do not make for happy reading. By and large, the critical issue is that there is a lot of cultural illiteracy, and there are very few organisations which are genuinely inclusive. There are barriers to promotion, and the silent whisper in organisations is that 'ethnic minorities are there to be used, but be very careful about sharing power with them'. In 21st century Britain, this is unacceptable, and everyone loses out by this. For example, as a University Lecturer, our founder, Dr. Atul Shah, predicted the banking crisis years before it happened, with the exact causes, but very few were listening. Furthermore, he conducted this research because of his strong ethic of public service, and was keen to use his skills to improve the world, not profit or build a personal ego through it. Could it be that prejudice means that the country is paying a huge economic price? Even within the major banks, there were hardly any ethnic minorities on the Boards, even though large numbers worked for these organisations. Would things have been different if there was leadership from ethnic minorities?
In this section, we highlight some of the research studies that have been done in this area, and comment on the findings and the strategies for positive action.
